JUL 2026
Orlando in January
We will be at the PGA Show in January. Inventors Spotlight, booth 4004.
Taking a booth for a product almost nobody has seen is a strange way to spend four days. Stranger still when nobody in the room can place an order. We sell direct, and we intend to keep it that way.
So we are going for the rest of it. Press, suppliers, collaborators, four days of hard questions, and one thing we have not shown anyone.
JUL 2026
The partner search
Our prototype partner reached capacity and could not take us. That was the plan, and then it was not.
What followed was mostly tedium. Websites that no longer resolve. Numbers that ring out. Sourcing platforms built for someone ordering ten thousand of something generic. We are going through agents now and proposals have started coming back. Slower than we wanted. Better late than in the wrong hands.
JUN 2026
A campaign for the waiting
The launch window moved. Manufacturing took longer to arrange than the first plan assumed, which left a choice between going quiet and finding something honest to say in the meantime.
So we built a second campaign. Lower volume than the first, because repeating yourself louder is not a strategy. No product shots, for the obvious reason. Just the argument, made a week at a time, to whoever is paying attention.
The audience is small right now. The people who turn up before there is anything to buy are the ones this was built to serve.
JUN 2026
Light where it is carried, finished where it is touched
Golf bags split into two camps. Heritage bags are beautiful and heavy. Performance bags are light and read as equipment. You are expected to pick a side.
We are not picking. The body is a technical outdoor fabric, closer to a backpacking shell than to anything hanging in a pro shop. The trim and the hardware are leather and metal, specified properly, because those are the parts your hands find.
JUN 2026
On making something once
The category says limited edition. We say made once, and the difference is not decoration.
Limited edition describes a quantity. Made once describes a decision that cannot be walked back. Four hundred to open, four thousand in total, and no version of this where demand talks us into more. If that sounds like leaving money on the table, it is. It is also the only scarcity worth anything a year later.
APR 2026
Funding it ourselves
We put a raise together and took it out. The answer came back the same every time. Come back when there is a product.
Fair enough, and useful. If we have to pay for the first bags before anyone will fund us, we are already paying for production, and the raise is solving a problem we no longer have.
So we are funding it. Not a closed door. Outside money may make sense later, when it buys scale instead of permission. It is not needed to start, and starting was the only question.
MAR 2026
The brand system
The mark was settled in March. An ellipse with a line across it.
Read it as a strap across a back, or as a line drawn through an assumption. Both readings were intended.
MAR 2026
Why a Pass and not a preorder
A preorder is a receipt. It sits in an inbox, it does one job, and the day the thing ships it is worth nothing.
The Founders Pass does more. It carries a claim, a number, and a vote, and it keeps working after the bag arrives. A member should end up holding something, not just having spent something. That is a harder build. We think it is the right one.
MAR 2026
Incorporated
Florida C-Corporation. Choosing the structure took longer than filing it.
A C-Corp is heavier than this stage requires. It is also the one that does not have to be undone later, and we would rather carry the weight now than rebuild the company around a decision made to save a few hundred dollars.
FEB 2026
Reading everything first
February went to research and nothing else. Category history, competitive teardowns, the patent landscape, manufacturing options, and case studies from brands that got it right alongside several that did not.
Some of it will be published here. The short version is that the category is large, the top of it is held by a few good names, and the thing nobody has re-examined is not the bag. It is the number they believe about who wants one. That is what this company was built to correct.
FEB 2026
Filed
The trademark application went in on the third.
You can build quietly and file once you are certain, or you can protect the name first. We did the second. A filing does not make a product real. It does make the intention hard to abandon.
JAN 2026
Two weeks in January
The brand existed on paper before it existed anywhere else. Two weeks produced the positioning, the visual direction, the product philosophy, and a first pass at the economics.
Writing it down that early can look like procrastination. It is the opposite. Every one of those documents is a constraint, and constraints are what stop a small company from saying yes to the wrong factory a year later.
JAN 2026
The standard came first
We wrote down what the bag had to be before speaking to a single supplier. Weight, materials, hardware, finish, and the short list of things we would not trade away.
It is a short document and it has already cost us time, because it rules out most of the people who would happily make this for us tomorrow. The usual order runs the other way. You find a factory, you see what they can do, and you call the result your standard. That is how you end up with a very good bag that is the same as everyone else's very good bag.
